New Music: Usher-hush

No. its not a sex charged song or about a tryst. In his latest single off his album "Here I Am", is his 4th single hush. The song is pretty self explanatory and like his female counterpart Beyonce, he's chosen a more acoustic sound rather than an urbasn one for this song.

Laugh a little: Rasheed Thurmond

I came across this comedian while watching Kat Williams on Youtube. There I was searching for more of his videos when I read "RIP" on one particular upload. Several Google searches later and I discover that he'ss been dead for nearly a year now.

Here is a little bit about him
Born in East New York, Thurmond and his four siblings were raised in a Vermont Ave. house by his stern father, who worked as a train conductor, and his mother, who worked as a token clerk. After graduating from Chelsea High School in Manhattan, Thurmond worked a number of odd jobs - from driving an ambulance to working for J.Crew.

"He started comedy at the age of 5," recalled his mother. The Brooklyn born-and-bred comedian collapsed and died at his Queens home on Nov. 27, leaving behind three young daughters, a large family and an unfinished career.

In his 10 years in the comedy business, Thurmond managed to build an impressive résumé, scoring a coveted spot on P. Diddy's "Bad Boys Of Comedy" and a recurring role on MTV's "Uptown Comedy Club."

New Music: Kanye West- Love Lockdown

Kanye's first single off his next album 808s and heartbreaks has been circulating on the net for a couple weeks now. He also debuted it at this years VMAs.

Not new to experimention and challenging content, Kanye once again comes up with something different. A reveiw of the single I read said the song was reminisent of negro spirituals and this is evident in the chorus. The voice box alteration works well for the song and I for one am enjoying the different sound the final product has.

Slogan tees and Elections

"KEVIN 07" and "OBAMA 08"
What do these two names have in common? Apart from both being the names of candidates who were/are running for head of state for Australia and U.S.A, the answer is t-shirts, yes t-shirts. In 2007 and this year, both names were printed on countless t-shirts and heavily worn.

Slogan tees as they are commonly known as have been around since the early 2000s however they first became a popularised form of expression in the 1980s. Tee shirts carried words in big and bold to display a message.
Nowadays they're most commonly seen on the young fashion conscious teen/young adult as well as on countless rappers in hiphop videos.

This year Barack Obama's supporters have been sporting countless revamped old t-shirt prints and slogans on t-shirts leaving last year's "Kevin 07" printed tee a lot paler in comparison. Just heading over to TEES by the people for the people and Flippin Sweet Gear will bring up heaps of great prints, a handful of which I wouldn't mind having.
