Sound tracks

Songs alway have a knack for capturing a feeling, reminding us of a moment in time or helping us get through.
For instance:
  • In 2002 my sisters and I loved 112's Dance with me
  • House of Pain's Jump Around always reminds me of my cousin Square - that jam always gets her psyched lol
  • Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was the my "most played album" in 1999
  • And then there's always "our song"- that one song that you and your other half have. For me it used to Bob Marley's Waiting in Vain but since then its become LL Cool J's Luv u better as my Other and I have gone through the motions of our relationship.

Then there are those songs you here off movies that get you. I experienced that after watching Prime (starring Uma Thurman, Merril Streep and Bryan Greenberg) last Friday. I hopped on the net and thanks to SoundtrackInfo.com I rediscovered Get Money by Junior Mafia and got introduced to I wish you love by Rachael Yamagata, She's got me by Daniel Merriweather and Sideways by Citizen Cope.

So I'm going to leave you with a list of songs that I'm listening to at the moment, songs which probably reflect the motions that I'm going through right now:
  • Common - the Light
  • LL Cool J - luv u better
  • Trey Songz - can't help but wait
  • Pink - who knew
  • Jagged Edge - goodbye
  • Alicia Keys -if I ain't got you (the remix by Kanye West)
Not that these are the only songs I'm listening to at the moment...you can never have too much music!

  1. From the top of my head...the soundtrack of movies has always been 'it' - the thing that gets me really involved, high, low, happy, sad...sad, depressed, suicidal (hmmm)...

    Some of my fav soundtracks:

    1) Jerry Maguire (Secret Garden by Bruce Springsteen)
    2) Remember the Titans (Ain't no mountain high)

i'll think of some others.... and make more comments...ahah
