Often times, we get a road block in life and wonder what's next, have I reached my peak? This word for today that I received in my email yesterday reminds us that our "best days are ahead"

Learn to build your life around your person, not your role, otherwise when your role changes you'll lose your sense of worth. Being a good mother is a noble calling. It's also a self-sacrificing job. But when your children leave home and those demands are over, it's easy to feel like Naomi did. Her name meant my joy. But after her two sons died she changed her name to Mara, which means bitterness.

Don't allow changing times to change who you are, or to make you stop dreaming and give up hope. God still had a lot for Naomi to do. In the future she would mentor Ruth, who would give birth to a son who was destined to grow up and become part of the lineage of King David and our blessed Lord. What an honour! When your role changes, remember that your life's not over. See your own worth as a person, discover your next assignment, gather up your assets and keep on living and giving. Don't develop a 'Mara mentality'. She allowed herself to become cynical when her circumstances changed; don't let that happen to you!

Discouragement often comes when we feel like we've seen it all, heard it all, done it all, and most of it was bad. No matter how old you are, you can never say you've seen it all. God can do '...exceeding abundantly above all that [you] ask or think...' (Ephesians 3:20). You don't know what God will do with your life before it's over. He has a way of saving the best for last.

Topic of Interest: Irena Sendler

I received this in a forwarded email and I couldnt help but be moved the courage this woman showed under such circumstances. Whilst the email came from a reliable source, I myself had to sure that I wasn't passing on some false claims and to my relief not only did this real life 20th Century heroene acutally exist, she really did save all those children!

The Following is the part of the contents that I received in my email:

The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving

Irena
Sendler

There
recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena. During
WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the
Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive'
... She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being
German.) Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool
box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a
burlap sack, (for larger kids..) She also had a dog in the
back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her
in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted
nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the
kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she
managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was
caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her
severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she
smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree
in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any
parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.
Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into
foster family homes or
adopted.

Last
year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ..... She was not
selected.

What’s your most significant achievement(s) to date?
Academic – completing a Bachelor of Business Degree, graduating at the top of my class.
Professional – Completing my professional accounting exams, hence obtaining Associate Membership of Certified Practicing Accountants PNG; Being promoted to Senior Accountant, where the next level up is Manager.
Personal – Having and continuing to take care of my precious son, Tayshaun.

Who/what inspires you? Why?
My mother inspires me with her strength of character. She’s been through things I never want to experience. And yet, though it all, she has maintained a remarkable spirit of hope and caring. The love and attention she has showered us with has never diminished.. from childhood till today.

My father inspires me with his determination and drive, that yielded my strong academic performance throughout school.

My son inspires me become a better person, so that he in turn can cultivate the good character traits that will enable him to live a good, honest life.

Finally, I am inspired by successful professional women who prove, by being where they are in the organisational hierarchy, that women can perform at a level equivalent to their male counterparts.

If you could change one thing in your world, what would that be?
I want to be more forgiving, and appreciative of what I have now, instead of pondering upon what could or should have been. That would change a lot of things for me.
