According to The Fader, it’s a protest song against the New York Times article, The 31 Places to Go in 2010, that listed Sri Lanka as the #1 place to visit in 2010. “Space Odyssey” should be on her forthcoming album, which is set to drop this summer.

Apperantly: Space Odyssey was quickly written and recorded Monday night for $100, in response to a New York Times story, the artists publicist tells The Fader. Space Odyssey, produced by M.I.A. and Rusko, will likely appear on M.I.A.s upcoming third studio album.
